Abstract
The monograph describes the leading trends in adult education in the developed world in the second half of XX - early XXI century. Socio-economic preconditions for the development of adult education in modern society are determined. Based on philosophical and methodological approaches to the analysis of adult education, the concept of "adult education" and its place in continuing education is revealed. The dynamics of research impact of international organizations on the development of national adult education systems is traced, which allows to harmoniously combine local and global, to shape national educational policy in the field of adult education in the context of integration into European and global educational space. The study of comparative research in the field of adult education gave opportunity to comprehend foreign experience, show its importance for the development of adult education in the global space and the need for such research in Ukraine and also became the basis for determining trends in adult education. The historical and pedagogical analysis of the development of adult education in developed countries is presented, which aims to identify specific features in different historical periods. The functioning of adult education systems through the relationship of its structural components has been studied, which allowed to determine its functions and principles, to analyze the structure formal and non-formal adult education, to establish the dependence of the effectiveness of the adult education system on the dynamics of educational policy in which social partnership between the state, society and business is crucial. Andragogical features, basic principles and technologies of adult learning are considered, their humanistic orientation and democracy are substantiated. Approaches to the preparation of andragogues for non-formal education are analyzed. Recommendations for the use of constructive ideas for the development of adult education in Ukraine from taking into account foreign experience.
