Abstract
Nowadays the Ukrainian society and the education community in particular have encountered explicitly important issues on searching new strategies of educational policy, the most perspective innovative educational technologies and approaches, which would provide a successful and fulfilling live within the modern globalized informational world. Therefore the proposed article raises relevant matters regarding the consideration of innovative methods of modern education, the revelation of key aspects of STEM and STEAM education based on the initiative of the USA government in relation to the introduction of STEM and STEAM approaches into the education system of the country in order to stimulate the innovative development of its economy, to raise the competitiveness of the country and to ensure the growth of prosperity among the population. The article is illustrating the reasons of the reinterpretation of the philosophy and the renewal of the STEM method and the introduction (on all education levels) of the STEAM education, where the integration of all STEM disciplines is performed with all other school subjects, in particular with art disciplines, arts and crafts, as well as human and social sciences, which are united under the general term of Arts. An individual attention is devoted to forms of Visual Arts, which play a significant part for the integration of all subject fields of STEAM education. The nature of the following terms is revealed: “innovation” regarding the interpretation within the pedagogical field, “education technology”, “innovative education technologies”, “metadiscipline”. The article emphasizes the benefits of STEAM education, which introduction allows to enclose the creative potential field, where art (within its broad understanding) is combined with investigation and innovation practices. The author clarifies important aspects of state policy with the support of art education, in particular the development and introduction of National Standards of general art, National Standards of visual art of the USA, as well as the performance of the Partnership regarding the art education.
