Abstract
The article considers the impact of environmental factors on the Activities and Participation of children with speech disorders from the standpoint of the ICF. Based on theoretical and methodological analysis and systematization of scientific literature on the research problem, the author states the need to take into account not only the individual characteristics of speech competence and its psychological characteristics associated with speech underdevelopment, but also external influences on the Functioning and Disability. In this regard, the article aims to represent some of the conceptual principles of the ICF. This is the first component of Contextual factors – Environmental factors. The author presents an understanding of the concepts of Environmental factors, Barriers, Facilitator from the provisions of IСF. It is emphasized that the Environmental factor can be a Barrier or a Facilitator. The nature of the impact that this Environmental factor has on the Functioning of the child is determined solely by the position of the particular student whose situation is described. Important in modeling a barrier-free educational environment in accordance with the educational needs of a child with speech difficulties is given to identifying influential environmental factors, establishing the nature of the impact of identified factors, removing obstacles, or strengthening the impact on the resource Activities and Participation. The author describes some of the environmental factors, their influence on the Functioning of children with various features of speech development. The examples illustrate the interaction of Environmental factors with Body functions, Activities and Participation of a child with speech disorders. Emphasis is placed on the need to study the impact of Environmental factors affecting children in this category, which should soon be the subject of special studies.
