Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the essence and content of professional and personal qualities of the head of an educational institution. The concept of "conflict competence" in the perspective of the development of knowledge about the range of possible behavioral strategies in conflict situations and the ability to adequately implement these strategies in a particular life situation. The modern requirements to the head of the educational institution, his professional knowledge and skills, positive experience of pedagogical activity, his professional and personal qualities are determined. The implementation of the functional responsibilities of the manager of the educational institution involves the use of special techniques and methods of leadership, which in the process of professional activity become a unique and individual style of each head. It is established that the chosen effective style of leadership behavior in conflict situations, the culture of communication reduce the level of conflict in the team and strengthen the authority of the leader. The article analyzes the main styles of behavior in conflict situations on the example of managers and employees. According to the results of the study, the established practice in resolving conflicts is the normative advantages of some strategies to others, the fact that there are cultural attitudes regarding their acceptability and unacceptability. The results of the study show that different categories of workers have different styles of behavior in conflict situations. The relationship of styles in our study indicates a specific relationship in the team. There is a risk in the team that most employees are indifferent to their goals and ideas and prefer to avoid conflict. The data show the need to develop ideas about other styles of behavior in conflict situations for employees of the institution and apply effective management mechanisms.
