Abstract
The theses consider the genesis of methods of teaching physics in Ukraine, the institutionalization processes in the second half of the XIX century. contributed to its formation as a science and academic discipline. In particular, institutionalization was manifested in the development of methodological activities of scientific and educational societies, the formation of scientific schools of physics and methods of physics, the formation of scientific and methodological environment and scientific communications, launching periodicals, development of Ukrainian physical terminology, textbooks.
