Abstract
The methodological basis for the formation of modern physics teaching content in Grades 7-9 is the strengthening of its target and competence orientation, and an important condition for its implementation is the creation and implementation of a competence-based teaching methodological system, which would ensure the formation of relevant components of key and subject competences by means of the basic course. The functionality of the procedural component of the competency-based physics teaching methodology in upper secondary schools is realized through the organization of such learning activities in the process of which the efforts of its subjects are aimed at creating conditions for the formation of relevant competencies, providing opportunities for independent work, formation of abilities and skills to solve qualitative and quantitative physical tasks, to plan and conduct a physical experiment, to perform self-monitoring.
