Abstract

In this article, we consider cochlear implantation as a complex method of influencing speech development from the medical, technical, social, economic, pedagogical points of view. Cochlear implantation is defined as a system of measures aimed at restoring auditory function, creating favorable conditions for speech, cognitive and social development on an auditory basis, which includes examination, surgery, as well as comprehensive pre- and postoperative support. Based on the analysis of the state and features of correctional and developmental impact on hearing development of children with cochlear implants in Ukraine and abroad, we outline main characteristics of the pedagogical component of support for children with cochlear implants and the conditions of its effectiveness. We have used theoretical and empirical methods: analysis of literature, observation, study and generalization of practical experience, surveys, and questionnaires.
