Abstract
The article presents a critical analysis of the introduction of inclusive education for children with special educational needs in Ukraine and draws attention to the inadmissibility of abandoning the domestic experience of their education and development. In particular, the lack of adequate educational needs for children with mental retardation in teaching inclusive classrooms was emphasized and the combination of special and inclusive education as a single system was substantiated.
