Abstract
The author finds that in the process of restructuring the system of professional training of Turkish teachers there was a tendency to increase the level of quality pedagogical education by merging all departments of pedagogical education into the Faculty of Education; making universities responsible for teacher education; introduction of compulsory eight-year education; strengthening cooperation between universities, schools and the National Teacher Training Committee; increasing the duration of training in specific teacher education programs subject areas; standardization of teacher education programs, etc. Modern teacher education in Ukraine is in a similar situation of finding a balance and optimal correspondence between the needs and challenges of the modern knowledge society, so Turkey's pedagogical experience can be promising for outlining opportunities to adapt positive ideas in reforming the domestic teacher training system.
