Abstract

The monograph is devoted to the study of fear of death, which affects the organization of human life experience, and the role of fear of death in the formation of individual self-awareness, in the process of personal worldview, the implementation of life choices and actions. The transformations of views on the phenomenon of death in accordance with different types of human consciousness are identified and systematized; identified integral characteristics and empirical manifestations of fear of death as a way of organizing life experience; the typology of models of fear of death as a way of the organization of life experience is offered. The concept of thanatological competence as one of the important skills of the XXI century is revealed and the ways of realization of own mortality as an indicator of psychological maturity are offered. Addressed to psychologists, practical psychologists, teachers of psychology in higher education, students, as well as anyone interested in the subject of death and their own finitude.
