Abstract

The paper presents theoretical arguments in favor of forming (for clients with traumatic experience) expectations of positive changes that should occur in the process of providing psychological care. Specific psychological techniques are given. The use of the proposed techniques, at the beginning of psychological care, contributes to: 1) strengthening the client's motivation to work with personal (internal) causes that are obstruct the process of solving the psychological problem and block the positive change; 2) creating a more holistic mental concept about the process of providing psychological assistance; 3) client's understanding that the achievement of psychological change depends on his active participation.
