Abstract
Competences are acquired as a result of activity characteristics of the individual, and their level of formation contributes to the successful entry into society. They are considered as an integrated result, which involves the shift of emphasis and the accumulation of normatively defined knowledge, skills and abilities to the formation and development of the ability to act in practice, applying the experience of successful activities in certain. They can be predicted and projected in the cognitive, activity, motivational, social and other spheres of life of high school and university students. They have a variable nature and a mobile structure, depend on the priorities of society, educational goals, features and opportunities for self-determination and personal activity in society.
