Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the problem of vocational training of girls in orphanages in Ukraine (1839-1911). The importance of studying and implementing in unstable economic and psychologically stressful conditions of today progressive ideas of experience of professional training of pupils of pre-revolutionary children's shelters is substantiated. In the studied institutions, children received both general education and learned a profession or mastered elements of professional skills in handicrafts, agriculture, home economics, and so on.
