Abstract

It is stated that under globalization challenges and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the EU is adapting its development strategy. The European Skills Agenda (2020), which proposes a five-year plan to support the European Community's economic and social development in a post-pandemic reality, is analyzed. It is highlighted that skills in the Agenda are identified a key priority that should strengthen the sustainable competitiveness; ensure social fairness; contribute to the • building resilience. It is concluded that the concept of skills is an umbrella that unites EU initiatives aimed at mastering the skills / qualifications / competencies of the Europeans for the revival of Europe and its advanced development in the world.
