Abstract
The article clarifies the meaning of the concept of «bilingualism» and its classification, as well as the explanation of the term «bimodal bilingualism» for Ukraine. The classification of persons who must learn sign language as a first, second or foreign language is highlighted. Indicated about the lack of information including statistical on the CODA. Mention is made of kinetic charging as an element of the Ukrainian Sign Language course and emphasizes important and compulsory teaching principles to gain effectiveness from Sign Language lessons. Emphasis is placed on the dosage of gestural vocabulary, which is a major component of the lesson when learning new teaching material. The essence of the manual and non-manual components of sign language is outlined. The essence of the manual and non-manual components of sign language is outlined, the structure of the manual component is revealed. The rejection of the nonmanual component of sign language due to ignorance of sign language linguistics is indicated, despite the fact that there are many scientific laboratories in the world for studying the non-manual component; the main functions of the nonmanual component are named. The uniqueness of sign language is emphasized, which is associated with the ability to reproduce and transmit several concepts at the same time, which verbal speech does not have. The classification of the gesture as a linguistic unit is summarized and its characteristics are disclosed. The basic types of gesture unit are listed. The materials for the exercises used in sign language lessons are mentioned in passing. The content of the concept of «gestural text» is disclosed and attention is paid to the ability of its construction and division into parts similar to the division of verbal text.
