Abstract
The article highlights the feature of the University of Gallodetus unlike other universities. Listed are a number of documents, after which a radical change in the educational policy regarding the educational and linguistic rights of the Deaf began. Specialists who deal with the quality of education of deaf students and sign language are listed and the results of the work are briefly listed. The importance of complying with the rules of communication “educational interpreter – deaf student”, which is a factor influencing the cooperation between them, is pointed out. The importance of the sign name that exists in the Deaf community, besides the official one, is emphasized. Special ethical standards of interaction between students with hearing impairment and the educational sign language interpreter, which should exist throughout the term of study, are mentioned. Emphasis is placed on the location of the sign language translator when providing the translation. The role of light for deaf persons is disclosed. The methods of calling and correctly attracting the attention of students with hearing impairments are highlighted. Attention is drawn to the ethical behavior of the sign language translator in a formal and informal setting, namely keeping their status in close cooperation. The importance of the manual and nonmanual component of the language of the translator is emphasized for the complete perception of the educational material by the students, which is a manifestation of respect for the language rights of deaf educational seekers. The external signals of perception of information by students with hearing impairments are disclosed. It is pointed out the importance of mutual cooperation in understanding the meaning of the terminological concept for the two parties, since there is a mutual enrichment of the dictionary and the signer. Emphasis is placed on the importance of preventing and resolving conflicts that may arise between different groups, namely: between a sign language translator and a deaf student; between a sign language translator and a teacher in the presence of deaf students; between the teacher and the deaf educator in the presence of an educational interpreter; among the most nonlinguistic students enrolled in one or more specialized groups at a higher education institution.
