Abstract
The article considers the problem of terminological unification in testology. The analysis of the scientific literature on the theory and practice of pedagogical measurements on the use of the terms "test task form" and "test task format" is carried out. Giving a definition to the term "test format", the author emphasizes the expansion of the use of the word "format" in both a purely terminological sense and a deterministic meaning, which is associated with the development of word formation in modern times. Among the factors influencing the use and dissemination of scientific terminology in the field of pedagogical measurements, the author singles out the role of external independent evaluation and organizations that administer standardized tests, considering the experience of Ukraine through the prism of world experience.
