Abstract
The article summarizes the results of the analysis of the content of current (basic) textbooks in mathematics for students of 5-9 grades of secondary schools of Ukraine in terms of the quality of test tasks contained in them. Without focusing on the list of examples of typical shortcomings (defects) of tasks in test form with the choice of one correct answer from the pages of textbooks, the author identifies certain trends that are characteristic of the authors of textbooks with test materials at the present stage of textbook creation. The problem of non-compliance of the requirements for the quality of the non-standardized (author's) test with the requirements for the content of the textbook as the main means of teaching is pointed out.
