Abstract
Conceptualizes the concept of trust as a socio-psychological phenomenon and a political phenomenon, understanding trust as a special form of combining empathy (emotional basis of this phenomenon) with the process of identification (as the basis of rational interpretation, identification, correlation with a particular pattern or model). It is proved that the result of such a combination is the formation of identity - acquired by a person during individual development and the process of socialization and personal integration as a state of dynamic, mobile, but relatively stable balance of values, social roles and relationships, attitudes, preferences. It is shown that these components become the basis of social, political, cultural, ethnic, group identity and so on. The provision on the value base of trust is substantiated, which, in particular, is determined by the expectation of a normatively established model of behavior and is based on the confidence that it will take place. In this sense, trust acquires orientational, instrumental and prognostic influence on social interaction. It is noted that trust, although not always based on rational principles, is increasingly becoming an integral part of domestic and foreign policy processes, a component of public administration and, ultimately, an influential factor in political culture and ideology. The nature and functions of trust are determined, development tendencies are singled out, and also possible directions, ways and forms of rationalization of this integrative political and psychological phenomenon are outlined.
