Abstract

The goal. The development of ideas about large-scale invariance of phenomena and processes of social communications and the development of their unified mathematical model on this basis. The methodological basis of the study is a triad that includes systematic, infometric and synergetic approaches to the development of mathematical principles of social communication. The first one (systemic) aims to generalize empirical scaling laws in library science, linguistics and scientometrics. The second one (infometric) is aimed at obtaining an analytical description of the quantitative relations between the subjects and objects of social communications, and the third one (synergetic) is focused on creating their unified mathematical model. The scientific novelty of the work is to generalize the family of scale-invariant phenomena and processes of social communications, which were approximated by the empirical laws of Bradford, Lotka and Zipf, and to establish a unified functional of their scaling and self-organization. The result of such generalization is the transition from approximation models of social communications to their analytical description by a stable law of probability distribution. Conclusions. Empirical laws of social communication are the manifestation of latent relations between subjects and objects of communication (authors, publications, terms, etc.). The clarification of these hidden relations and the definition of the mathematical apparatus for their accurate description and analysis will ensure the development of the scientific base of social communications.
