Abstract
The theses update the concept of "distance learning", indicate the main forms of online communication, the most common web resources, defining characteristics and components of distance learning. The author notes that the implementation of formative assessment in the context of distance learning - is a great responsibility of the teacher, who must assess not the result but the learning process of students. In addition, it is noted that in the learning process it is important to use the basic strategies of the stages of formative assessment, which determine the actions of participants in the learning process.
