Abstract
The article is devoted research of features of cognitive, emotional, personal and motor areas of children with moderate mental retardation. Defined approaches to the areas of pedagogical influence on this category. Outlined the prospects for further research on this issue. Changes in the numbers of special schools, the growth in the number of students with moderate mental retardation has posed serious questions about the pedagogical work, enhance correctional educational activities with children with moderate mental retardation, the development of training content, appropriate grading based on their characteristics, and the like. The defining characteristic of cognitive processes of children with moderate mental retardation is an actual problem, in order to adequately pick the intervention that intensified cognitive processes of younger students with moderate mental retardation, as well as stimulate their cognitive activity. Correctional and developmental program «Development of speech of children with moderate mental retardation in the process of exploring nature» developed on the basis of the State standard primary education for children with special educational needs. The program presents content correction and developing training of language development in material science in children with moderate mental retardation, brought up in special secondary education, training and rehabilitation centers. The program is designed for preparatory, 1 - 4 classes (5 years). Remedial work carried out in these areas, first, work on creating preconditions for speech development, and secondly - to develop basic functions of speech.
