Abstract
The article deals with improving the content of the subject "Natural science" for children with intellectual disabilities grades 1-5, which involves the disclosure of the purpose, objectives, content lines, the implementation of the principles of the subject, the use of special methods and techniques of teaching. The basic idea of the content of natural science is discovering and establishing connections between the components nonliving and living nature, awareness of students belonging to nature and society; creating conditions for careful attitude to the environment, in explaining the impact on labor activity of people all components of nature. Updated content of the subjects' Natural science 'for mentally disabilities children, given the educational standard, is to provide a amount of knowledge and representations that will provide becoming of students' skills use them respective to operate in appropriate life situations which will be a basis of ideological orientation of the individual. The most crucial principles in the selection of educational material on nature is the principle of sufficient material to form students' understanding of the world around the person, their awareness of belonging to nature, nonliving objects understanding of and wildlife connection between nature and employment rights, and the principle of availability of material for perception and assimilation of students with mentally disabilities children.
