Abstract

Peculiarities of text material selection as an important factor influencing the efficiency of formation of prognostic skills of junior schoolchildren are revealed. Among them: explicit presentation of elements of compositional and logical structure of texts that perform the regulatory function of the reader's interaction with the text (titles, division of the text into logically complete parts, consistent development of the story line, sufficient frequency of keywords, concepts, terms, printing, rhetorical questions, appeals to readers, the presence in the children's book of reference and information apparatus, taking into account the age characteristics of the perception of texts of different types in primary school age, etc.
