Abstract
Data analysis results of a recent large-scale monitoring study in the school education field in Ukraine – PISA-2018 (International Student Assessment Program) are presented in the manuscript. Summarizing data obtained on the Ukraine in PISA-2018 results, we want to note that many factors have led to low students’ results in all three areas of testing, and this requires an additional research. Following the innovations’ introduction in the education system of Ukraine, it is important not to lose the traditions of fundamental education in our country and pay a special attention to the professional teachers’ training who should combine high professionalism and high relations culture with students. We also consider the scientific education development to be promising. Because in scientific education the student is an active subject of the educational process. The statistical data processing program IDB Analyzer and PISA’s data features are also presented in the manuscript. The conditionally gifted students’ category for processing research data is established. Students who received high scores (5, 6 level on the PISA achievement scale) according to the test results are academically gifted students. The research data statistical analysis results are considered (average values are established, graphs and diagrams given, indicators’ ratios are offered). Among the significant PISA indices, the following were analyzed: competitiveness (COMPETE), reading satisfaction (JOYREAD), life satisfaction (ST016Q01NA), socio-economic status (ESCS), positive feelings (SWBP), attitude towards education (ATTLNACT), sense of belonging to an educational institution (BELONG). A model and recommendations for Ukrainian school education quality improvement are proposed.
