Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of realization of ethnocultural content and methodical support of studying of themes of culture at lessons of history of Ukraine. Theoretical and methodological principles of realization of the culturological com-ponent in the process of teaching history are determined; the potential of the culturological content of the course of history of Ukraine for the formation of civic competence of high school students is revealed. The result of the introduction of nation-al values in historical education is civic competence. It is realized in the knowledge of the spiritual and material culture of the Ukrainian nation, in the ability to use culturological knowledge in everyday life. When teaching culturological topics in Ukrainian history lessons, it is important to characterize the phenomenon of Ukrainian culture, the history of its development, place in the world culture system, evaluate cultural achievements based on knowledge of the historical context of their creation, be able to dialogue cultures, be able to express and justify relating to the value attitude to the historical past. The implementation of ethnological and competence approaches as a methodological basis for the selection and structuring of the content of school historical education allowed to substantiate the content, volume and structure of the ectocultural component of the education-al course. In particular, the ethnocultural content of the history of Ukraine in grades 10–11 is a system of knowledge about the ethno- and nation-genesis of the Ukrainian people in the twentieth century, on this basis the acquisition of knowledge about the basic laws and development of specific features of culture during their historical progress. That is, in the course of Ukrain-ian history, students must learn the following concepts: Ukrainian statehood, ethnic policy, ethnocultural features, Ukrainian revival, Ukrainization, and so on.
