Abstract
The report analyzes the state of research on the problems of the content of primary and general secondary education in scientific institutions of the NAES of Ukraine, describes the main achievements of scientists of the Academy in recent years, in particular, concerning the conceptual and educational support of updating the content of education, identified the most important areas of modernization of the content of education in the context of the reform of the Ukrainian school. Problems of the formation and implementation of the content of education are constantly among the priority areas of research of scientific institutions of the NAES of Ukraine. In the last four years, academics have created about 40 study programs and more than 100 textbooks. The unifying factor of the modern education paradigm, on the basis of which the Ukrainian school is being reformed, is the integration of three approaches known in pedagogy and school practice - personality-oriented, activity-based and competence-based. Competence-based approach allows you to realize knowledge through the ability of students to use them in life and through the assimilation of value relationships of students to the results of their practical activities. Their relationship determines the essence of transformational processes in education. It is indicated that the problem of standardization of the content of education remains insufficiently studied, as a result of which work on the standards of general secondary education and educational programs is complicated. Among the priority tasks of scientific researches of the NAES of Ukraine should be the problems of integration and differentiation of the content of education, education and development intellectual gifted children, widespread use in the educational process of ICT, preparation of teachers for work in the conditions of competence-based learning etc.
