Abstract
The events of the last (2013-2018) years, namely a powerful information aggression by the Russian Federation against the Ukrainian state, the annexation of Crimea, the military conflict in Donbass, attempts to "legalize" the change of territorial borders through Russian-controlled media, which also acted on the territory of Ukraine, the aggressor's support of a significant number of major protests and opposition movements in Ukraine, attempts to spread destructive ideas aimed at overthrowing the current government, collapse of public administration or change of government to a more pro-Russian, active attempts to stimulate value-cognitive disorientation, development of declining and anti-Western sentiments, pseudo-nostalgic amount of "achievements" of Soviet power, etc., as well as both linear and asymmetric responses from the Ukrainian side (militarization of the economy, social reforms, "creeping counterattack" in the "gray" zone, strengthening cooperation with Western partners, anti-Russian sanctions, propaganda, etc.), give every reason to claim there is an information war between the states.
