Abstract

The article reveals the essence of the phenomenon of "singleism", as a freely chosen lifestyle for which people give up any relationship, sometimes sexual, do not start a family and do not have children. The definitions of "singleton", "singlism", "matrimony", "hikikomori" are given, "Sampo generation", "loneliness economy" and characterized the general features and differences between them. Singles, or singles, are people who consciously remain without a partner, motivating their own the choice of unwillingness to lose personal boundaries, adapt and yield to personal interests, which is the norm in all respects. Today, the choice of "solo life" is deep personal in their own worldview, beliefs and free choice, as well as absolutely a normal, adequate solution resorted to by millions of people on the planet. But despite on this, solo people face misunderstanding, prejudice, and sometimes condemnation of their life choices on the part of society, which is manifested in discrimination of the latter in various spheres of life.
