Abstract
The main methods and techniques of formation of communicative skills of students in lessons of Ukrainian as the state language, as well as their classification are analyzed, their content is specified. The application of training (practical) methods, which include imitation, reproductive, operational, productive and creative (or communicative) methods, is considered in detail. It is concluded that the considered methods and techniques are closely intertwined, their purposeful use in Ukrainian language lessons as a state language will contribute to the formation of students' speech skills.
