Abstract
The course of mathematics is an important component of teaching and educating students with speech disorders. Full mastery of mathematical knowledge is possible under conditions of sufficient development of higher mental functions: perception, attention, imagination, memory, mental operations (analysis, synthesis, comparison, control) and speech. During the study of mathematics, students improve their ability to reason logically, to distinguish the properties of objects and phenomena. Mastering the subject contributes to the formation of such qualities of the emotional and volitional sphere as initiative, concentration, perseverance, diligence, independence.
