Abstract
The article examines the content of the concept of "social networks as trading platforms" and characterizes their advantages and disadvantages compared to ordinary and existing trading platforms, identifies new opportunities for marketing communications through social media, the authors clarify and analyse the main types of promotion in popular social networks.
