Abstract
The article attempts to initiate the creation of an interdisciplinary historiography of the activities of the Alexander School-Farm of the Deaf and Dumb (1903–1911) in order to fully present it as an important asset of national education. Chronologically, the publication is limited to a review of materials published during the last decade, ie in 2010–2019.Thanks to historiographical research, it has been established that the study of the Oleksandrivka School-Farm (also known as the Mariinsky School-Farm of the Deaf and Dumb) is carried out by researchers specializing in special pedagogy, history of education and history of Ukraine in the history of charity and local lore. It was found that the results of research within the competence of these scientific disciplines provide interesting material for generalization on the scale of interdisciplinary historiography. In particular, V. Shevchenko's research presents the institution as a component of the system of special schools for the deaf and dumb in the second half of the XIX – early XX centuries, as well as the brainchild of the mayor of Oleksandrivsk (now – Zaporizhia) Felix Movchanovsky. Deaf pedagogue V. Sakun acquaints with the fund of the Museum of the History of the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf, which houses a collection (about 70 items) of postcards with photographs depicting the lives of students. In N. Antonets’s publications, the hamlet school is considered in the context of the institutions of the Department of Institutions of the Empress Maria and in connection with the development of innovative educational institutions, which began to appear in Ukraine due to private initiative in the second half of the XIX century. Historians O. Kravchenko, K. Petrov, and K. Nedrya study the history of the institution everywhere through the prism of charity. A separate group of publications consists of local lore materials that have a scientific, popular science or informational nature. Their authors (V. Morozyuk, V. Moskovtseva, Y. Knyazkov, N. Solovyova, etc.) respectfully mention the name of the school organizer F. Movchanovsky, tell the history of the institution, and also care about the current state of the territory where it once was. was. The article notes that the further development of the stated topic will have a positive impact on awareness of outstanding national achievements in the field of education.
