Abstract
Folk traditions and customs are the main way for future generations to inherit the spirituality, culture, centuries-old experience and rules of social behavior of the nation; as pedagogical creativity of the people are various forms and methods of influence on consciousness, feelings and behavior of children; as a social phenomenon - traditions reflect the principles, norms and rules that are the basis in the relationship of people in society and personal life. In this context, the development of a new Ukrainian school acquires special significance. Reforms of basic secondary education for high school students over the next five years after primary school have now begun. The process of reforming basic secondary education involves new approaches to the organization of the educational process in the gymnasium and meaningful changes in its components. One of the most important tasks of high school education is the formation of a nationally conscious personality based on universal values and cultural and historical experience of the Ukrainian people, its traditions and customs, which is clearly reflected in literary works, art and more.
