Abstract
The problem of development of children with special educational needs is covered. It is noted that the factors that limit the physical and / or mental health of such children, create an unfavorable social situation for their development, lead to deviations or distortions in its course. The conditions that best contribute to the realization of the educational needs of preschool children with developmental disabilities are revealed. Among them: pedagogical intervention from an early age, professional correction and developmental impact, taking into account individual characteristics of development, ensuring maximum individualization of the educational process, the use of adequate diagnostic tools to study the potential for learning in the educational process. These factors are the basis for socio-psychological adaptation of children with special educational needs in social functioning as a mentally healthy person.
