Abstract

In theses importance of working with the textbook for the effective enrichment of the vocabulary of the Ukrainian language of 2nd grade students with instruction in the languages of national minorities on the basis of a competency-based approach was emphasized. Relevant current textbooks on the Ukrainian language are analyzed. On the example of textbooks for schools with instruction in Hungarian and Russian, valuable methodological developments of the authors are outlined and some negative aspects are identified. It is emphasized that it is possible and useful for the teacher to supplement the system of tasks for vocabulary work offered in the textbook, depending on the specifics of the class, the vocabulary of each student, the use of manuals, didactic materials, etc.
