Abstract

The paper updates information about the embroidered shirt as an element of clothing, reveals its crucial, deep significance in the life of the Ukrainian people. The works of Ukrainian authors, which speak of an embroidered shirt or things decorated with embroidery, are analyzed. In particular, the work of the famous modern writer Zirka Menzatyuk and Ukrainian designer Oksana Karavanska. The conclusion about the relevance of the image of the embroidered shirt in modern Ukrainian children's literature is made.
