Abstract

The purpose of the initial course of language and literature education, the tasks of the New Ukrainian School have been updated. It is noted that the main means of learning is a textbook. Requirements for educational texts, illustrative material, questions and tasks of modern textbooks of the Ukrainian language for 3rd grade are determined. It is concluded that the current textbooks generally meet these requirements, contain texts and tasks close to the real life of students.
