Abstract

The information on the creation and usage of computer ontologies in science, education and librarianship is analyzed. It has been determined that the main directions of research by local authors are: disclosure of the general foundations of the concept of "computer ontology" and its definitions; construction of knowledge-oriented systems based on an ontological approach; the use of ontologies as a means of forming competencies; development of educational services (information resources); creation of ontological electronic textbooks; ontological modeling in the education system; direct construction and use of ontologies in the educational process; support for transdisciplinarity in the educational process; application of the ontological approach in inclusive education; development of test items; use in library activities and the like.It was also determined that the ontological approach, as a direction of scientific research, is transdisciplinary in nature and has great prospects for use in knowledge-based systems.
