Abstract

The article focuses on the advantages, problems and opportunities for school communications on social media. It is noted that in the context of the State Inspectorate introduction the school should publish information on its activities at open public resources the special attention of which is paid to Facebook capabilities within the research. A content analysis of Facebook pages and groups of educational institutions was conducted in order to highlight the most striking instances of consolidation of educational institution participants in interactive communication seeking for common socially important interests. Practical suggestions are exemplified for successful communication of general secondary educational institutions in social media as well as an algorithm for event coverage under unforseen or unfortunate situation emergency in the educational institution. There are also negative examples of information dissemination on social media due to the low media literacy among participants of the education process.
