Abstract

The article analyzes the CLIL-technology possibilities as the way of increasing the motivational component of the high school geography education. The CLIL-technology content proposed by some authors is revealed. Analyzing and comprehending the content of the subject matter make it possible to confidently state the demand for innovation in the school community. The method proposed by the authors is based on the worldwide idea of sustainable development. CLIL-technology can improve the pupil’s knowledge on geography, increase the individual academic level, deepen practical skills and activates geographical training of pupils. The problem of CLIL-technology usage in geography lessons has been analyzed. CLIL-technology strategies and techniques, as a modern pedagogical technology, for high school geography education have been presented. The pedagogical experiment on using CLIL-technology during geography lessons (General Geography course for high school students) testified the positive result of students’ increasing interest in geography training and formation their geography competence. Due to the rational organization of cognitive and self-practical training by the CLIL-technology methodology, any general secondary education graduate can successfully solve educational problems.
