Abstract

Features of control of an artificial body and "feeling of merging" in virtual reality are considered. The following definition is given: the fusion of artificial parts with a living body is the sensation that occurs when the properties of artificial body parts are treated as if they would be the properties of one's own biological body. The concept of "embodiment with an artificial body" includes three main components: self-location, representation and a sense of ownership of the body. These components can play an important role in learning, including group.
