Abstract
The article considers the state of psychological and pedagogical assistance to children with mental retardation (MRI) in Ukraine. The necessity of diluting the clinical and psychological-pedagogical diagnosis during the diagnosis of CPD in children is substantiated. Possibilities and limitations of tests and methods of qualitative assessment of intellectual development of the child are analyzed and the necessity of preservation and further development of domestic achievements in this field is emphasized. Key words: mental retardation (MRI), clinical diagnostics, psychological and pedagogical diagnostics, tests, qualitative assessment of intellectual activity.
