Abstract

The article analyzes Israeli and American textbooks from the point of view of methods and techniques of teaching literacy, used in the initial teaching of the Hebrew language. The main methods of teaching literacy, contributing to the formation of the initial skills of reading and writing, are considered - letter-composition, syllabic, analytic-systhetic methods and the method of whole words.
