Abstract

The article notes the need for the student to develop key competencies, in particular those that provide the opportunity for the successful implementation of life-long learning. The importance of using adequate technologies and tools for assessing these competencies was emphasized. In the context of the aforementioned, the author analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of introducing an external independent assessment as a form of conducting the state final certification of graduates of a basic education and substantiates the most relevant, in his opinion, objectives of such a test.
