Abstract

The conference materials actualize that the problem of formation of communicative competence in primary school students in Ukrainian language lessons is one of the most important and relevant in the modern school. The paper reveals the meaning of the concept of "communicative competence", analyzes the views of scientists on this problem and, based on the interpretations of various researchers, offers its own definition, which most deeply reveals its essence. The paper also identifies the basic communication skills that should be formed in primary school students in Ukrainian language lessons.
