Abstract
The article presents organizational structures in IT companies. Among the types of organizational structures are more modern matrix organizations, which, in turn, combine functional and design characteristics and are divided into weak, balanced and strong (depending on the level of authority). Weak matrix organizations mostly have the same structure as the functional one, but there is a role of the project manager, who mostly performs coordination duties and does not have a sufficient level of authority to manage the project (including independent decision-making). Instead, strong matrix organizations have mostly the characteristics of a project organization.
