Abstract
It is stated that globalization changes the context of educational development, directly affecting the conceptual foundations and educational policy. This necessitates a rethinking of traditional views on comparative education research. It is recommended to take into account the following postulates: departure from the consideration of education in a static format, which has always covered only formal education; taking into account regional and global levels; consideration of horizontal links within the national education system; primarily non-governmental organizations that gain influence in decision-making in education. It is concluded that it is important for a researcher-comparative educator today to understand the complexity and interconnectedness of the modern world, which dictates the consideration of the educational phenomenon in the light of methodological transformations.
