Abstract

The implementation of the competency approach involves the expansion of the functions of teaching mathematics: actually mathematical education, education through mathematics, specializing as an element of pre-vocational training. It is expedient to pay more attention to the second function, which is to direct the content of education to master the mathematical apparatus as a means of solving problems of reality, to develop the qualities of thinking necessary for the full functioning of man in modern society.
