Abstract

Teaching democracy and forming students' civic competencies is one of the main tasks of the New Ukrainian School. This publication is aimed at raising students' awareness of parliamentarism, the role and functions of the Verkhovna Rada, the activities of people's deputies and the possibility of civic participation of children and youth. The handbook “My Parliament: I Understand and Influence” was written within the project “Creating a Network of Interactive Parliamentary Educational Centers for Primary and Secondary School Students” implemented by the NGO “Education Policy Development Agency” within the USAID COUNCIL: responsibility, accountability, democratic parliamentary representation ", implemented by the Eastern Europe Foundation. The main goal of the RADA Program is to promote the establishment of a responsible, accountable and democratic representative body - the Parliament of Ukraine. The handbook was created by educators-practitioners in the field of civic education, who offer modern approaches to parliamentary education and provide methodological development of parliamentary lessons and quests, which can be conducted both at school and in all organizations working with children and youth.
